Ceramic eye - interior and exterior worlds

An 'eye' inside a dome-shaped ceramic form with an opening at its apex.
The eye is a convex mirror that is placed a few centimetres behind an opening in a ceramic dome-shaped form. The dome as approximately 30cm across, with the opening being about 5cm wide.
The mirror reflects part of the internal surface of the ceramic form along with the world beyond the opening, creating an unsettling effect through the suggestion of an internal and external world. The effect is magnified by the reflections of external light sources on the convex mirror surface, which also give the work a slightly disturbing organic quality.
